Independent Pipe and Supply is a distributor of Victaulic grooved fittings designed specifically for use in grooved piping systems. Victaulic offers a broad line of grooved fittings in sizes through 24" (610 mm) in a variety of straight and reducing styles. Most standard Victaulic grooved fittings are cast in durable ductile iron to precise tolerances. Victaulic standard grooved fittings pressure ratings conform to the ratings of Victaulic Style 77 couplings.

All grooved fittings are supplied with grooves or shoulders to permit fast installation without field preparation. The fittings grooved design permits flexibility for easy alignment. These fittings are not intended for use with Victaulic couplings for plain end pipe.

Manufacturing materials for Victaulic grooved fittings

Victaulic grooved fittings are fabricated from various materials including malleable iron, ductile iron, steel or segmentally welded steel, depending on styles and size. Victaulic grooved fittings are painted orange enamel with galvanized optionally available, contact Victaulic for details.

Victaulic grooved fittings are designed specifically for use in grooved piping systems. When connecting wafer or lug-type butterfly valves directly to Victaulic grooved fittings with Style 741 or Style 743 Vic-Flange adapters, check disc clearance dimensions with I.D. dimension of fitting.

Maximum Coating Thickness – Victaulic Grooved Fittings

The coating thickness on Victaulic grooved fittings should not exceed 10 mils. Specifically the gasket seating surface and the entire groove should have coating thickness limited to 10 mils. Exceeding the maximum thickness on either Victaulic grooved fittings or coupling surfaces will decrease the performance capabilities of the pipe joints.

Alternate Materials for Victaulic Grooved Fittings

Stainless Steel: Victaulic grooved fittings are available in Schedule 10, Type 316 stainless steel in various sizes. (Schedule 5, 40 and Type 304 optionally available)

Aluminum: Victaulic grooved fittings are available in aluminum alloy 356 T6, in sizes from 1 – 8”.

Alternate Styles

EndSeal “ES” Fittings: Victaulic EndSeal grooved fittings are available in 2 – 12” for use with “ES” grooved pipe and HP 70ES EndSeal of Fire-R couplings. Victaulic ES grooved fittings are painted green for easy identification.

Victaulic grooved fittings machined for rubber or urethane lining (MRL): For severe abrasive services, Victaulic grooved fittings may be rubber or urethane lined (by others).
