The Viega MegaPressG isn’t a standard carbon steel press fitting being used outside its intended application. It was engineered for approved gas and fuel oil systems.

The system uses an HNBR sealing element and is designed for applicable gas and fuel oil installations. It is a system worth considering when you’re looking for a press alternative for an approved carbon steel application, rather than simply choosing a fitting based on connection size.

What’s Inside the Connection?

The fitting itself is engineered to do more than simply hold the pipe together.

Viega MegaPressG fittings use an HNBR sealing element, along with a 420 stainless steel grip ring and 304 stainless steel separator ring in sizes from ½” through 2″.

For sizes from 2½” through 4″, the system uses a graphite separator ring. The fittings also feature a corrosion-resistant zinc-nickel coating.
